Is God in your Plan?

It's mid February and we just celebrated the day designated to Love- Valentines Day.  Since God is Love and Love is God then I wonder why is it so hard to make him a priority.  How you spend your time, talent and money is where your heart truly belongs.  Recently with all the New Year's bliss I've been extremely focused....(ONE WORD-FOCUS) on planning and organization.  It has went well thus far...especially since you are reading this post published as planned.  As my mother use to say whats good for the goose is good for the gander (what's a gander?).  Therefore I have made a conscious, intentional and deliberate attempt to plan time for God.

Since we get twenty-four hours in each day surely I can plan to spend ten percent of my time in activities that are centered around being intimate with God (prayer), learning wisdom through Godly text(reading christian teachings), writing about the goodness of the Lord (blog) and reading the word (the Bible).

I love to read and I love the Lord, so why does it seem that I never get to read the 100's of books that I have that celebrate him (yes 100's).  Or one of the 8 bible translations that I own.  I have figured it out, I have internetitis, a condition caused from being too connected to the world wide web and a disconnected from paper books, old fashion notepad and pen.  Since, I don't like to be infected with any sort of itis I decided to treat myself with some love.  From this moment forward I will plan for God...I will plan to spend time with him and make him a priority.

Having a planner for everything is great, however without God on the schedule the rest will fail. Without God nothing is possible.

Currently on my schedule include the Bible, A Sudden Glory: God's Lavish Response to Your Ache for Something More, 100 Days of Favor: Daily Readings From Unmerited Favor and Grieving God's Way: The Path to Lasting Hope and Healing

How will you plan to make time for God?

  1. I've been struggling lately with having a plan, but not sticking to it. I sense Him rearranging the plan. There is nothing that brings me greater satisfaction than being with Him. Thank you for linking up with The Weekend Brew today.

  5. I have drifted in my schedule this month and it was instantly noticeable. Trying to make time by not giving God enough time in our plan just doesn't work. It makes everything else even harder.

  7. Yes!! Love it. I always say when I get busy that if I'm too busy for God/studying his Word; then I'm far more busy than he ever intended me to be. Thanks for this!

  8. I have no plan. Isn't that terrible? I always think to myself, I should read my Bible/do my devotions/etc, but I never do because I'm "too busy". Perhaps if I schedule God into my life, it will become a habit. I know my life is so much sweeter when I DO spend time with Him. Thank you for the reminder.

  12. Such a great reminder, and something that need to do a better job at. I had a really good system working for a while, but then the kids stated waking earlier and threw my whole day off. But I know that getting back to having a planned time with Him is so important. Thanks for sharing.
