The Bible represents wisdom, strength, encouragement, instruction,
correction and love. There are many reasons to study the bible and here’s just
eight benefits of the word*.
1. It
assures us of salvation.
“I write these things to you who believe
in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
(1 John 5:13)
2. It cleanses
us from sin.
“You are already clean because of the
word I have spoken to you.” (John 15:3)
“Sanctify them by the
truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17)
3. It
gives peace.
“I have told you these things, so that
in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
4. It
brings joy.
“I have told you this so that my joy may
be in you and that your joy may be complete.”
(John 15:11)
5. It
guides our decisions.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a
light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
6. It
helps us in prayer.
“If you remain in me and my words remain
in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7)
7. It
strengthens.
“I write to you, dear children, because
you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from
the beginning. I write to you, young men because you are strong and the word of
God lives in you and you have overcome the evil one.” (1 John 2:14)
8. It
leads to success.
“Keep this Book of
the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be
careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and
successful.” (Joshua 1:8)
