The Bible has given us a root system that is never faulty and all the tools that are needed to ensure that the body of Christ is in perfect harmony with the will of God. We are all called for his divine purpose at his appointed time. Will you be ready for your calling? Are you operating within the Lord’s root system?
What is a root system?
A developed system of roots; a group of independent but interrelated
elements comprising a unified whole; "a vast system of production and
distribution and consumption that keep the body going"
What is God’s root system?
God’s root system is the body of Christ!
It is a system of roots that are there to be of a support to the
body. In order for the plant to grow and
remain healthy the roots must be strong and supply the plant with what it
needs.
The plant is rooted in the hope that springs from heaven. Paul says in Colossians 2:6-7 “So then, just
as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built
up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with
thankfulness.
How can we be a part of God’s root system? (These are a few roots)
- Love - Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. (1Peter 4:8)
- Prayer- We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you (Colossians 1:3)
- Praise and Worship - Therefore God has highly exalted him [Jesus] and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
- Thanksgiving - Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. (Psalms 100:4)
- The Word of God - All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. (2 Timothy 3:16)
- Faith - And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him(Hebrews 11:6)
- Obedience - Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:16-17)
In conclusion the root of the problem is:
Are you operating within God’s Root System?
Only you know….
Colossians 2:6-7 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
